Wada Garou Tokyo is pleased to present our solo exhibition resonance by Kana Sato. Painted in oil and embroidered with animal motifs, her works are enveloped in the softness of the gentle sheen of oil and the texture of embroidery, encouraging a dialogue with the nature that lies dormant within all of us. The exhibition presents a selection of around 20 paintings, including the most recent works. We hope visitors will enjoy the mix of roughness and finesse in the brushstrokes and spun threads of the canvas. ARTIST STATEMENT I find that imperfection mirrors the essence of nature. Rather than striving for perfection, I believe that my recent work has been an attempt to draw closer to the natural world. In a society overshadowed by artificiality and unease, I often feel unfulfilled. Our current way of life, distant from the organic rhythms of nature, leaves me longing for something more genuine. For centuries, Japanese spiritual traditions have embraced nature worship and animism, the belief that the divine resides within the natural world. I believe that this deep connection with nature, ingrained in daily life, resonates with the beauty and preciousness that lies within each of us.
