Opening Event (Tea Ceremony):November 15th
Wada Garou Tokyo is pleased to announce that our artist Aki Nakata will be participating in the two-person Taiwan-Japan Exchange Exhibition. The show will be on view at ASIR ART MUSEUM in Taiwan, from November 5, 2025. ———-- The Echo of Distant Mountains An Art Exchange Exhibition between Taiwan and Japan. The echo resounding through distant mountains feels like a voice returning from beyond the peaks—symbolizing the cultural and artistic resonance between female artists from Taiwan and Japan. It reflects both the softness and strength of women, embodying a rich exchange of art born through the intersection of diverse modes of expression. The "Four Gentlemen"—orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum, and plum—are often depicted in traditional East Asian painting and calligraphy as symbols of noble character. They also serve as motifs representing the four seasons: the orchid for spring, bamboo for summer, chrysanthemum for autumn, and plum blossom for winter. Though interpretations may vary by region, this association is widely recognized. This exhibition also features an opening event themed around “Tea and Calligraphy”, welcoming tea ceremony enthusiasts to participate. Through two distinct styles of tea gatherings, visitors can quietly savor tea while immersing themselves in the delicate worlds of Japanese contemporary calligraphy and Taiwanese nature painting. Within the intimate space of the tea ceremony, the artistic dialogue between the two artists gently interweaves, offering an experience of aesthetics rooted in everyday life. Aki Nakata
