A solo exhibition by Yume - Saudade

Wada Garou Tokyo is pleased to announce our second solo exhibition Saudade by Yume.

An alumna of Joshibi University of Art and Design, Yume is celebrated for her evocative, atmospheric landscapes. Her distinct color palette captures a poignant sense of longing for memories past, evoking emotions that blend yearning, warmth, and sorrow. Each work invites viewers into a contemplative space where they are encouraged to surrender to the bittersweet tides of nostalgia.

​ARTIST STATEMENT

A piano’s melody drifts in on the night breeze.
I know this tune—yet the name slips away.
As I close my eyes and linger in thought, memories of familiar scenes surface, vivid in my mind.
Places that once were, somewhere, sometime.
The warmth of the light, the gentleness of the wind.
Even as the music fades, these visions linger, suspended in time, gently drifting.

PROFILE
Yume was born in Tokyo and holds a BFA in Oil Painting and Printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Joshibi University of Art and Design. She explores intangible yet ever-present elements such as memory, atmosphere, and emotion in her work. Often incorporating children as central figures, Yume creates inner landscapes that evoke feelings of nostalgia and contemplation.
