Wada Garou is pleased to present “around, around”, a solo exhibition by the Tokyo-born painter Yume. 

​A graduate of Joshibi University of Art and Design, Yume is deeply fascinated by the invisible yet undeniable presence of air, memory, and emotion. Through her paintings of boys and girls, she evokes landscapes of the mind that resemble fragments of cherished memories, stirring a sense of nostalgia within the viewer. 

The title of this exhibition, around, around, reflects her contemplation on fleeting moments of brilliance that quietly emerge amidst the ever-changing flow of daily life.

In her own words:
“In the midst of days that rush by, I suddenly catch the scent of flowers drifting in the air. It is then I remember that spring has arrived. The fragrance of blossoms, the warmth of a tepid breeze, the light of the sun—these things are undeniably there, yet they vanish before I realize. I try to scoop them up, pin them down, as if collecting treasures.”

True to these words, her works capture those ephemeral moments, leaving space for viewers to layer their own intimate memories upon them.

Born in Tokyo. Graduated from the Department of Western Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, Joshibi University of Art and Design.

​She is deeply interested in intangible yet ever-present elements such as air, memory, and emotion. Using boys and girls as her primary motifs, she paints imagined landscapes that evoke the atmosphere of memories.
