Flower Appearance April 6th - April 27th, 2024
Wada Garou Tokyo Lab. is proud to announce a solo exhibition by Haruko Nagata.
Nagata is an artist who continues to paint flowers. When she faces her works as if she were breathing with flowers, she comes to express herself by perceiving the smell, sound, temperature, color, and even the presence of flowers with her five senses, Nagata says. The buds open with fresh vitality, and even the decayed form of the flowers is expressed as it is. The works expressed without being bound by form are like afterimages of memories of a certain time, and speak to us straight away, enveloped in soft light. The first time we have exhibited the work of Haruko Nagata in our gallery. We look forward to welcoming you to the show. ARTIST STATEMENT As I try to give form to each moment of floral transience, the expression naturally becomes simpler than figurative. Facing flowers all the time, they seem to tell me what they should be depicted as. —This is the first time to unveil my work in WADA GAROU TOKYO Lab.
